Former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has voiced his shock and disappointment over the disappearance of over 1,300 ECG containers at the Tema Port.
This incident has raised serious questions about the transparency and effectiveness of the investigations into the matter.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, April 3, Mahama conveyed his dismay, stating that he was not only taken aback by the magnitude of the container disappearance but also troubled by how the investigative committee handled the case.
Mahama, who previously served as ECG’s Managing Director, revealed that he had not been given an opportunity to engage with the investigative committee, despite his name being prominently mentioned in the report.
“I am scandalised and sad because for a report that has my name in it, the decent thing would have been for me to be given a chance to speak to this committee. It’s made it very difficult for me to fully understand what happened,” he said.
The committee was expected to answer critical questions regarding how the containers went missing, who was responsible, and what measures were being taken to recover the missing items.
