Jonas Eidevall was in charge of Rosengard in his native Sweden before taking over at Arsenal in June 2021

Arsenal Women’s head coach Jonas Eidevall has stepped down from his position.

The north London team currently sits sixth in the Women’s Super League (WSL), having secured only one victory from their first four matches of the 2024-25 season.

Assistant coach Renee Slegers will assume interim management duties.

Sporting director Edu expressed gratitude for Eidevall’s contributions, stating, “We thank Jonas for his commitment to the club and his achievements since joining us in 2021. We have great respect for the dedication he showed to our women’s first team and recognize his role in the growth and development of Arsenal Women.”

Eidevall had signed a new three-year contract last October following consecutive top-three finishes in the WSL and victories in the Women’s League Cup over the past two seasons.
