Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly set to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with La Liga his preferred destination, according to Sky Sports Germany.

The Dutch-born Ghanaian, a key player for Leverkusen with 3 goals and 5 assists in the Bundesliga, is determined to play in Spain’s top flight, particularly for Real Madrid or FC Barcelona.

Frimpong reportedly rejected offers last summer in anticipation of a move to Spain, also influenced by his desire to work under manager Xabi Alonso.

Despite interest from Premier League clubs, Frimpong is reportedly less keen on a move to England, viewing the league as too physical. He prefers the technical and possession-based style of La Liga.

His departure would be a significant loss for Leverkusen, who rely heavily on his contributions. As the transfer window approaches, the club will need to prepare for his potential exit.

While Leverkusen hopes to retain Frimpong, his focus remains on securing a move to Spain.
