The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that changes are imminent within the Black Stars technical team.
According to Joy Sports, the FA is set to part ways with assistant coaches John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann.
This move is part of the association’s efforts to strengthen the backroom staff supporting head coach Otto Addo.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirmed that the potential changes were discussed during the Executive Council’s meeting last year.
“After the last meeting where Otto [Addo] presented his report to the Council, there were loads of considerations, discussions, and analyses,” Asante Twum told Joy Sports. “They looked at the all the departments, the technical team, backroom staff, and other service providers.”
“At the end of the day, there was a need to make some changes,” he added.
While the final decisions have not been officially communicated, these changes are expected to be implemented before the Black Stars assemble for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.
