The National Sports Authority (NSA) is taking steps to improve Ghana’s football infrastructure by upgrading football pitches across the country to meet FIFA standards.

This initiative is aimed at enhancing the quality of play, reducing player injuries, and positioning Ghana as a top sporting destination.

The decision to upgrade the pitches comes after CAF’s earlier ban on the Baba Yara Stadium due to its poor condition.

To address these issues, the NSA, in collaboration with a Dutch-based company, conducted a thorough assessment of football pitches nationwide and identified areas requiring improvement.

Interested contractors can obtain tender documents through the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (e-GP) or at the NSA office. Bids, accompanied by a 2% tender security, must be submitted electronically by January 6, 2025.

By investing in its football infrastructure, Ghana aims to create world-class facilities that can host high-level international competitions and contribute to the development of the sport.
