Ghana and South Korea’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) have signed a $2 billion agreement to support Ghana’s development goals.
The deal was signed at the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit and will be used to support Ghana’s priority programs in infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, energy, roads, transport, and ICT.
The Ghanaian Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, signed the agreement and expressed his country’s gratitude to the Korean government for their support.
The agreement is significant for both countries and will help to enhance their long-standing economic development partnership.
Some of the projects that will be implemented with the funds include high-speed railways, highways, and sustainable energy systems.
The agreement will also support healthcare and education initiatives, as well as vocational training and digital literacy programs.
