On The Ability to See series, Dr. Kuuku Dadzie Ephraim delivered a powerful message on what truly pleases God, urging listeners to pursue holiness over superficial religious acts.
Speaking on AP Radio 105.7, Dr. Ephraim warned against the growing misconception that acts of charity or material sacrifices alone can make a person right with God. “Many people assume that giving to the poor, building churches, or supporting religious causes is enough,” he said, “but God is not impressed by offerings that come from an unrepentant heart.”
He stressed that while charity is commendable, it cannot replace obedience to God’s commands. “God is more concerned with the state of your heart than the size of your donation,” Dr. Ephraim noted. “Holiness—living a life that reflects His character—is what He desires most.”
Quoting from Scripture, he explained that true righteousness and goodness come only through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. “Without the Spirit of God guiding our lives,” he said, “even our best efforts fall short. Good deeds done apart from God’s will are spiritually empty.”
He also addressed those who use their good works to cover up immoral lifestyles, saying, “It’s dangerous to think that you can bribe God with charity while continuing in sin. God sees beyond our actions—He looks at the heart.”
Dr. Ephraim concluded by encouraging believers to seek a deeper relationship with God, allowing His Spirit to transform them from the inside out.
