The Ministry of Education has allocated an additional GH₵25 million to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to support its operations and ensure the smooth continuation of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) marking process.
In a statement released on Monday, December 23, Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, confirmed the release of the funds.
He assured the public that WAEC is committed to releasing the results promptly, with this financial support aimed at addressing the challenges the council has been facing.
The additional funding is expected to ease some of the financial burdens on WAEC, helping to expedite the marking process and facilitate the timely release of results.
This move will come as a relief to students, parents, and educational institutions who have been anxiously awaiting the WASSCE results.
