Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that he may have made a mistake by advising the club against making any signings last summer.

City are currently experiencing a significant dip in form, struggling in the Premier League and facing elimination from the Champions League.

Guardiola believes that a lack of squad depth, exacerbated by a high number of injuries, has contributed to the team’s poor performance.

He acknowledged that he relied heavily on the existing squad and underestimated the potential impact of injuries.

City are now actively seeking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, with deals for Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush in the works.

Despite these efforts, the team faces a challenging period ahead as they attempt to recover from a disappointing start to the season.
