Ghanaian attacker Ibrahim Osman has spoken publicly for the first time about his transfer to the Premier League, revealing why he chose Brighton & Hove Albion despite interest from several other clubs.
Brighton signed the 19-year-old winger from Danish club Nordsjaelland on a five-year contract, which will take effect during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The transfer fee is reportedly around £16 million, although the exact amount has not been disclosed by Brighton.
According to Osman in an interview with Bold, he chose Brighton due to their style of play. “When you perform at Brighton, you get to play,” he stated. “That’s why I chose Brighton.”
This season, Osman has recorded four goals and five assists in as many appearances for his club.
Initially, he was linked with a move to West Ham but ultimately decided to join Brighton instead.
The talented Ghanaian forward initially joined Nordsjaelland from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana and made his senior debut for the Danish club in February 2023.
His journey mirrors that of Brighton’s Ivorian forward, Simon Adingra, who also began his career at the Right to Dream Academy before making a move to Nordsjaelland.
