The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has announced a consistent rise in patient satisfaction, attributing the improvement to the strategic use of internally-generated funds (IGF) for acquiring vital medical equipment and implementing patient-focused initiatives.
Key equipment purchased through IGF includes ventilators, a ligasure generator, a haemodialysis water purification system, a Slit Lamp Biomicroscope, an Applanation Tonometer, a Phototherapy Machine, Diathermy Machines, and additional Haemodialysis and CRRT Machines.
Hospital management states that these acquisitions have significantly boosted healthcare delivery and service quality.
Patient satisfaction rates at KATH have steadily increased, from 80.7% in 2022 to 85.2% in 2023 and 85.5% in 2024.
As KATH commemorates its 70th anniversary, Chief Executive Officer Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to becoming a leading African center for specialized care, training, and research.
Speaking at the 2024 End-of-Year Performance Review Conference, themed “Seven Decades of Impacting Lives…”, he assured that quality healthcare delivery would remain a top priority through patient-centered, technology-driven, and collaborative strategies.
Professor Addai-Mensah also recognized the positive impact of past investments and partnerships in enhancing the hospital’s operations, infrastructure, and equipment.
