Following the tragic death of a student in a stabbing incident, Kinbu Senior High Technical School has introduced new security measures. School authorities are now conducting thorough searches of students before they are allowed to enter the school premises.

The search, which began on Monday, August 4, is aimed at confiscating unauthorized items such as knives and mobile phones. In addition to the searches, students who are not in the approved school uniform or have unkempt hair are being denied entry.

The security crackdown comes after 15-year-old first-year student Addib Alhassan was allegedly stabbed and killed by a fellow student on July 31. The incident reportedly occurred during an altercation that stemmed from a heated argument.

In a statement released on August 1, the Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, strongly condemned the fatal stabbing. She described the incident as both “tragic and senseless.”
