Kofi Adams, the newly appointed Minister for Sports and Recreation

Newly appointed Sports Minister Kofi Adams has emphasized the crucial role of collaboration and unity in revitalizing Ghana’s sports sector.

In his initial address, Adams highlighted the unique power of sports to unite the nation and engage the public.

He stressed the importance of open communication and transparency within the sports ecosystem, warning against the spread of misinformation.

“The good thing about sports is that it’s the only place where you don’t pay for space,” Adams noted, emphasizing the significant media attention garnered by sports and its potential to reignite public interest and support.

Adams acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead, including guiding the Black Stars through the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

He also addressed concerns about his limited experience in sports management, emphasizing his commitment to fostering a collaborative environment and working closely with stakeholders to achieve success.

“Unity is very important,” Adams stated, positioning teamwork as the cornerstone of his vision for revitalizing Ghanaian sports.
