Former NPP General Secretary Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has called for national unity and economic reform, warning that decades of political division and weak governance have stalled the country’s progress since independence.
Speaking at the filing of his nomination forms, Agyepong said the country’s democracy has yet to deliver prosperity. “Our much touted democracy has not yielded the expected economic dividend,” he declared, lamenting that millions remain excluded from progress.
He pointed to growing frustration among citizens, especially youth, who he said are disillusioned by partisan politics and failed leadership. Agyepong urged an end to entrenched polarization, calling unity “an urgent necessity” for rebuilding the economy.
His proposals include fiscal discipline, investment in job creating sectors, and stronger accountability to restore trust in leadership.
“Ghana must heal. Our leaders must be held to account, not only for their policies but for the sincerity with which they lead,” he said.
