Liverpool are making significant strides toward securing a new contract for star forward Mohamed Salah, with negotiations between the club and the player’s representatives progressing positively.

While a final agreement has yet to be signed, sources close to the discussions say there is growing optimism at Anfield that a deal will soon be finalized.

Salah’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, sparking speculation about a potential move—particularly from clubs in Saudi Arabia keen to lure the Egyptian international.

However, the recent developments suggest Salah may be ready to extend his stay on Merseyside, where he has been a transformative figure since joining in 2017. The 31-year-old has scored an impressive 243 goals in 394 appearances for the club and remains vital to Liverpool’s title ambitions, netting 32 goals across all competitions this season.

Adding to the positive momentum, club captain Virgil van Dijk—whose own contract also ends this summer—offered an encouraging update on his situation earlier this week.

“There is progress, yes,” Van Dijk said. “These are internal discussions and we’ll see. I love the club, I love the fans—and they were there for us again [at Fulham].”

Meanwhile, uncertainty still surrounds the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back is reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over a potential free transfer ahead of next season.
