A severe shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has hit parts of Accra, causing significant disruption to daily life for residents and businesses.
Many gas stations in the city are displaying “No Gas” signs, leaving consumers frustrated and scrambling for alternatives.
The few remaining gas stations with LPG supplies are struggling to meet the overwhelming demand, further intensifying the crisis.
Consumers affected by the shortage are urging authorities to take immediate action to resolve the issue.
The LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA) has warned that if the situation persists, gas stations across the country could face widespread closures by the weekend. Gabriel Kumi, Vice President of the LPGMA, stated that supplies from Bulk Oil Distributors need to improve to prevent a further deterioration of the situation.
However, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has contradicted these claims, asserting that the LPG shortage has been resolved. Despite this official statement, consumers and marketers remain skeptical and continue to call for urgent measures to address the ongoing crisis.
