President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced the formation of a six-member interim team to handle national security matters until substantive appointments are made. The new team, which will begin its work on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, is expected to oversee the coordination of security operations during the transition period.
The team will be led by Prosper Douglas Bani, former Minister for the Interior, who has been appointed as Chairman. The full composition of the interim team, as detailed in a statement by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to the President-Elect, is as follows:
