Eric Sosu, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment—and that of its flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama—to rebuilding Ghana with a long-term vision that prioritizes the needs of future generations.
Speaking at an NDC-organized forum, Sosu sharply criticized the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, accusing it of mismanaging national resources for personal and familial gain.
“The NPP came into office and dismantled the progress we had made,” he said. “They’ve enriched themselves and their families while leaving the country in economic and institutional disarray.”
Sosu emphasized that Mahama and the NDC are fully prepared to restore Ghana’s economy, strengthen democratic institutions, and uphold the values of good governance to secure a better future for the next generation.
He also directed strong criticism toward Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa, along with her deputies. Sosu alleged institutional bias and warned that any attempt to compromise the country’s democratic integrity would be met with firm resistance.
“Let the suspended Chief Justice and the EC Chair start preparing themselves,” he stated. “We will not sit idle while individuals undermine the democracy we’ve fought hard to build.”
The remarks come amid rising political tensions as the country approaches the next general elections, with the NDC positioning itself as a force for restoration and reform.
