President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in an eight-member Constitutional Review Committee tasked with assessing Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and recommending amendments to strengthen the nation’s governance structures.

The committee, composed of distinguished legal and governance experts, will focus on reviewing past recommendations, consulting with stakeholders, and proposing actionable reforms that align with the evolving democratic and socio-economic landscape of Ghana.

Key members of the committee include former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei, with Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh appointed as chairman.

During the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama emphasized the importance of moving beyond discussions and taking concrete steps to implement meaningful constitutional changes. He stressed that the committee’s work is essential for shaping the future of the country.

In response, Chairman Prof. Kwasi Prempeh assured the committee’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate with purpose and dedication, aiming to deliver substantial progress for Ghana.
