President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to resolve Ghana’s ongoing economic crisis within the duration of his four-year term.
During his first State of the Nation Address in his second term on Thursday, February 27, President Mahama acknowledged the severe economic challenges the nation faces but expressed confidence in restoring the country to a path of growth and prosperity.
“I, John Dramani Mahama, will fix the economic crisis confronting our country and steer it back onto a path of growth and prosperity,” he declared.
Despite admitting that “the state of the nation is not good,” with Ghanaians enduring unprecedented hardships, Mahama focused on solutions rather than blaming previous administrations.
“It is not my style to lament and shift blame. I am not here to lament, even though there is much to lament about,” he stated.
He also reaffirmed his proven track record in overcoming challenges, recalling his success in addressing Ghana’s energy crisis. “I promised to fix ‘dumsor,’ and I fixed it. There was no power rationing or load shedding under my leadership,” he reminded the public.
Mahama’s address emphasized his commitment to economic recovery, signaling his readiness to implement the necessary policies for financial stability and national progress.
