A 15-year-old girl in Yendi, Ghana, was allegedly defiled by a 25-year-old man. The victim’s family is now demanding justice and has expressed concern over attempts by a local chief to intervene in the case.

The girl is currently hospitalized with serious injuries. The family alleges that the suspect administered a substance to the victim, rendering her unconscious before committing the act.

The victim’s father expressed his frustration with the situation, stating that a local chief is attempting to have the case withdrawn from the police.

“I was called by the chief that the suspect came to his house and asked that he should call me and plead on their behalf,” the father, Abdulai Yakubu, told Channel One News. “But in this case, I don’t think what they are requesting can happen. Seriously, I couldn’t eat yesterday.”

Yakubu emphasized that he would consult with his family before making any decisions regarding the case.

The police are investigating the incident and are awaiting further direction from the victim’s family.

This incident highlights the ongoing issue of sexual violence against children in Ghana and the importance of ensuring that justice is served in such cases.
