Manchester United have rejected an offer from Italian side Napoli for winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Napoli, who have identified the 20-year-old Argentina international as their top target, had hoped to use funds from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s expected move to Paris Saint-Germain to facilitate the transfer. However, their initial bid was significantly lower than United’s valuation of Garnacho, reportedly around £40 million.
While United are open to offers for academy products as part of a potential squad rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim, they are not actively encouraging bids for Garnacho or England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Amorim, speaking on Wednesday, reaffirmed that Garnacho has a future at Old Trafford. “That is clear. He has talent,” Amorim stated. “I think he has changed the way he sees himself. He’s finding the best way to play in this system and is improving in training.”
