A mentally challenged man is believed to have set fire to a teachers’ bungalow at Nkyenekyene in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The bungalow, which housed educators from the Nkyenekyene Presbyterian Basic School, was engulfed in flames.
According to sources, the man had been in the area for about a week, staying near the bungalow after arriving from an unknown location.
The motive behind the fire remains unclear.
The incident has left the community in shock, with the teachers losing all of their belongings in the blaze.
The affected teachers expressed concerns about their future in the town, calling for assistance from individuals, NGOs, and government agencies.
Local residents have urged relevant authorities to intervene quickly to prevent disruption to academic activities.
The suspect has been arrested and is currently under police investigation.
