The Minority in Parliament has denounced what they claim was an attempt by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) to intimidate MP John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member on the Interior and Defence Committee.

This follows Fordjour’s allegations regarding two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport, which he claimed were involved in drug and cash trafficking.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, speaking to the media after an alleged failed attempt to arrest Fordjour at his Accra residence on Wednesday, April 9th, pledged the caucus’s full support for their colleague and declared they would not be intimidated.

Afenyo-Markin characterized the NIB’s action as politically motivated and an attempt to suppress dissent within Parliament.

He emphasized the Minority’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the investigation of Fordjour’s allegations and insisted on adherence to due process.

Afenyo-Markin also called on the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to uphold justice and fairness.
