A mobile money vendor, Patricia Nimako, was fatally shot by suspected armed robbers on Thursday, February 13, at her shop in Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in the afternoon when two men arrived at the shop on a motorbike, pretending to be customers.
However, they suddenly demanded cash from Patricia and shot her twice when she refused to comply.
The assailants then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Patricia was rushed to Manhyia Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident has sparked fear and panic among local residents and business owners, who are calling for increased security measures to prevent such crimes in the future.
