The National Identification Authority (NIA) has reiterated that the first-time issuance of the Ghana Card remains free at its 276 operational district offices nationwide.

However, fees have been introduced for first-time card issuance and other services at its Premium Centres, as approved by Parliament in 2023.

This announcement aims to clarify the fee structure for obtaining the Ghana Card, a crucial identification document for accessing government services and other essential activities.

The NIA has specified the approved fees for services at Premium Centres, which include GH₵310.00 for first-time issuance, GH₵125.00 for card replacement, and GH₵420.00 for record updates with card replacement.

Additional fees have been outlined for services such as nationality updates (GH₵70.00) and record updates only (free at district offices, GH₵310.00 at Premium Centres).
