John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a stern warning to potential appointees in his upcoming administration, urging them to seek positions only if they are truly dedicated to serving the people of Ghana.
In a speech during a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church in Accra, Mahama emphasized that those aspiring to public office must approach their roles with humility, diligence, and a genuine commitment to public service.
He made it clear that positions in his government are not for those motivated by selfishness or arrogance.
Mahama also reflected on the recent election results, highlighting the power of the people in choosing their leaders.
He reminded potential leaders that power is temporary and should always be used to serve the interests of the public. “We must always remember that power belongs to the people and must be exercised for their benefit,” Mahama said, urging the incoming leadership to learn from the humbling lesson of the election.
