The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has refuted claims by former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo that she was not informed of the postponement of her disciplinary committee hearing.
NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed clarified that Adwoa Safo was duly notified of the rescheduled meeting. This response follows Safo’s complaint that she arrived at the party headquarters to find no committee in session, despite being served a summons.
Speaking at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Mohammed asserted that the party followed proper procedures in communicating the postponement. “Her counsel received a letter. We have had the cause to have calls with her. Even me, I pointed to her that I’ve called on her numbers,” he said, indicating personal attempts to contact her.
Mohammed explained that Safo was informed the hearing would be rescheduled and the new date communicated to her. He emphasized the party’s respect for Safo as a senior member and acknowledged the importance of addressing her concerns, while stressing the need for clear communication.
“I’m stating the facts, and this is an official record I am putting out to the general public,” Mohammed said, dismissing allegations that she was uninformed. He assured that the party’s disciplinary committee remains committed to due process.
