A founding member of Ghana’s governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed concerns about the Electoral Commission’s (EC) actions, warning they could jeopardize Ghana’s democratic reputation.
Speaking at an anti-corruption event in Accra, he stated that the EC’s conduct poses a significant threat to national stability.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe cited specific instances, including alleged unauthorized voter transfers between constituencies without necessary consent, which he believes could disrupt the electoral process.
His concerns come as the EC faces increased scrutiny from stakeholders, including the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of the 2024 general elections.
