A targeted police operation against illegal drug activities in Dominase, located in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, escalated into violence, leaving one civilian dead and three police officers injured.

The raid, carried out by the Ghana Police Service, was aimed at dismantling what is suspected to be a drug trafficking network operating in the area. However, the officers met strong resistance from individuals believed to be involved in the illegal trade.

Amid the confrontation, a civilian linked to the suspects was fatally shot. Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the deceased individual and the injured officers.

Sources within the police confirm that three officers suffered varying degrees of injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a medical facility.

While the Ghana Police Service has not released an official statement on the incident, residents report an increased security presence in Dominase as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the clash.
