An 18-year-old student from O’Reilly Senior High School has been arrested and charged with murder following a tragic stabbing incident that occurred on Monday, September 2, 2024.
The suspect, identified as Godwin, appeared in court for the first time on Thursday, September 5, 2024, after being detained.

The victim, Edward Borketey Sackey, a General Arts student, was fatally stabbed during a heated argument with Godwin, a Visual Arts student.
The dispute, which began over a comparison of their fathers’ wealth, escalated into violence.
Sackey was immediately rushed to LEKMA Hospital by fellow students but was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Disturbing images and videos of the incident, including attempts to aid Sackey and his unconscious state, have circulated on social media.
The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the school and the surrounding community.
In response, the Ghana Education Service (GES) convened an urgent meeting on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with the school’s administration, including the Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, Stephen Abamfo, and the LEKMA Municipal Director of Education.
