The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta wanted and called on the public to provide any information regarding his whereabouts.
This follows a previous announcement by the OSP at a press conference in Accra last week, where they declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive.
The notice posted on the OSP’s X page describes Ofori-Atta, born on November 7, 1958, as a 66-year-old male with black eyes, black hair, and brown skin. His possible locations include the United States and the United Kingdom.
Ofori-Atta faces multiple charges, including his involvement in the Strategic Mobilisation-GRA contract, the termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments related to the National Cathedral, the procurement of ambulances, and the utilization of the Tax Refund Account.
The OSP has urged anyone with information to contact them via phone or WhatsApp at 0554494499 or 0554484488.
Additionally, the Office issued a legal disclaimer, reiterating that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, in line with the principle of the presumption of innocence.
