The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed his approval of the ongoing renovation work at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

During a visit last Friday to inspect the recently renovated A-4 and A-5 floors, the Asantehene commended the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKaP) Committee for their dedication to delivering high-quality work.

Otumfuo spent over two hours touring the facility, where he observed the newly refurbished nurse stations, washrooms, kitchens, and patient wards.

He praised the work done by contractors and artisans, occasionally expressing his satisfaction with a pat on the back to committee members, including Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, the CEO of KATH, and Samuel Adu-Boakye, the Chairman of HeKaP.

Encouraging the team to continue their diligent work, Otumfuo urged them to maintain the same level of excellence in their efforts to complete the project, ensuring it benefits both the hospital staff and patients.

Support for HeKaP Project

Joseph Osei Brown, Managing Director of JOSHOB Construction Limited and a key donor to the HeKaP project, also shared his thoughts with the media.

He expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the renovation and commended the committee for their hard work. He further appealed to the public, as well as private and corporate organizations, to contribute to the ongoing project.

“I urge all Ghanaians to contribute towards the renovation, as the contractors have delivered an exceptional job that will benefit everyone,” Mr. Brown said.

Commitment to Completion

Speaking to the press, Mr. Samuel Adu-Boakye, Chairman of HeKaP, expressed gratitude for Otumfuo’s visit, noting that it had humbled the committee.

He assured the public that the committee would work swiftly to complete the remaining floors of the hospital.

Currently, the committee is using a temporary structure to house patients displaced from the renovated floors. The project will proceed in phases until all floors are completed.

“We sincerely thank Otumfuo for entrusting us with this task, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed over $4 million to get this project started. We humbly ask for continued support from the public to complete the full renovation of all four blocks at KATH,” Mr. Adu-Boakye added.
