Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has apologized to the club for his recent public criticism of the club’s ownership.

Following Tottenham’s 4-3 defeat to Chelsea, Romero expressed his frustration with the club’s lack of investment in an interview with Spanish broadcaster Telemundo Deportes. He questioned the club’s ambition and compared it to other top European clubs.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has since confirmed that Romero has acknowledged his mistake and apologized. “He realizes that a lot of what he said was good but some wasn’t the right way of dealing with it,” Postecoglou said.

Meanwhile, both Romero and Micky van de Ven are sidelined with injuries and will miss Tottenham’s upcoming Europa League match against Rangers.   Sources and related content
