Liverpool, England – Mohamed Salah continued his impressive form, scoring his 50th European goal for Liverpool as the Reds secured a crucial victory against Lille in the Champions League.  

The Egyptian forward showcased his clinical finishing once again, latching onto a superb through ball from Curtis Jones and calmly lifting the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.  

This latest strike brings Salah’s tally to 22 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season, adding to his impressive tally of 17 assists. He now boasts the highest number of goal involvements (39) among players in Europe’s top five leagues.

His 50th European goal for Liverpool, with 44 coming in the Champions League, five in last season’s Europa League, and one in Champions League qualifying, further solidifies his status as the club’s leading European goalscorer.  

Only Sergio Aguero (23 goals at the Etihad Stadium) for Manchester City and Ruud van Nistelrooy (23 goals at Old Trafford) for Manchester United have scored more goals in the competition at a specific venue for an English club.

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock praised Salah’s unwavering confidence, stating on BBC Radio 5 Live, “There has always been a smile on Salah’s face but it’s just that belief in himself that he will score.”
