Samia Nkrumah, former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and daughter of Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah, has reaffirmed her father’s pivotal role in Ghana’s development.
In an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, she emphasized that Kwame Nkrumah was the visionary leader who laid the foundation for modern Ghana.
Nkrumah, she said, was a prophet with a remarkable foresight. He was a philosopher, an organizer, and a leader who provided the guidelines for African unity and dignity.
Addressing the debate surrounding the sole founder of Ghana, Samia Nkrumah firmly stated that Kwame Nkrumah was the founder without any doubt.
While acknowledging that others may disagree, she emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation for Ghana’s progress.
Nkrumah suggested that Ghana has not fully honored her father’s legacy.
She advocated for the inclusion of Kwame Nkrumah’s books in the national curriculum to educate Ghanaians about his ideas and contributions.
By familiarizing themselves with his work, Ghanaians can engage in informed discussions and debates, regardless of their agreement or disagreement.
Samia Nkrumah concluded by emphasizing the need for Ghanaians to recognize and appreciate the significant role Kwame Nkrumah played in shaping the nation.
She called for a deeper understanding of his legacy and the implementation of his vision for a united and prosperous Ghana.
