The much-anticipated peace talks aimed at resolving the Bawku conflict have been postponed to next week, according to sources at the Manhyia Palace.
The talks, spearheaded by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, were initially set to advance on Monday, April 28.
However, complications related to the ongoing chieftaincy dispute at the heart of the conflict have led to a delay in the scheduled mediation meetings.
Manhyia Palace has yet to confirm the new date for the resumption of talks, but Otumfuo’s leadership continues to be seen as a key factor in the pursuit of lasting peace in the region.
The mediation, which was meant to run from April 28 to May 1, is part of broader efforts to ease tensions in Bawku.
