According to Bagbin, the budget declares government policy priorities and provides a roadmap for national development.¹

Speaking at a three-day post-budget workshop, Bagbin emphasized that the workshop aims to equip Members of Parliament (MPs) with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively scrutinize and analyze the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.

Key Objectives of the Workshop:

  • Effective Participation: Enable MPs to participate actively in budget debates, asking the right questions, and assessing trade-offs.
  • Alignment with Government Agenda: Ensure the budget aligns with the government’s ‘Reset Ghana’ agenda, aimed at revitalizing the economy.

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga and Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin also emphasized the significance of the workshop in promoting parliamentary governance and capacity-building for MPs.
