In the first days of the new Trump administration, a sweeping crackdown on illegal immigration has begun, marked by hundreds of arrests and deportations.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the detention of 538 undocumented immigrants, including a suspected terrorist and individuals convicted of serious crimes such as sexual offenses against minors.
Leavitt declared, “The largest deportation operation in history is well underway. Promises made, promises kept.” Military cargo planes have already begun flying detainees out of the country as part of the administration’s aggressive approach to curbing illegal immigration and securing U.S. borders.
As part of the ongoing efforts, the Republican-led House passed a bill that mandates the detention of unauthorized immigrants convicted of violent crimes and theft, a measure Trump is expected to sign into law.
Additionally, the president has signed executive orders aimed at strengthening border security and expediting the deportation process.
This hardline stance follows the release of a list of crimes committed by the arrested individuals, including rape and sexual abuse, reinforcing the administration’s focus on removing criminals from U.S. soil.
The recent actions are part of Trump’s broader strategy to address the rising illegal immigration and perceived security threats.
