Two people have reportedly died with several others sustaining injuries of varying degrees after the bus they were travelling in crashed and overturned at Nangode in the Nabdam district of the Upper East region.
Reports indicate that the driver allegedly handed over the steering wheel to his mate in the early hours of Friday.
However, the mate lost control when the bus hit a speed ramp, causing it to overturn.
The accident resulted in the instant deaths of two people and left many others injured.
Adam Iddrisu Emmanuel, a passenger recounted “This morning when we were coming from Kumasi to Bawku when we got here, the driver applied the brake and actually I don’t know what happened and the car, it is like it [lost] balance so it came and hit the bridge.”
“We loaded at Kumasi at Adehyeman near Kejetia and we were going to Garu.”
