La Liga strugglers Valencia have appointed West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan as their new head coach.
The Spanish club paid a release clause in Corberan’s contract to secure his services. The 41-year-old has signed a deal until the end of the 2026-27 season, replacing Ruben Baraja who was sacked on Monday.
Corberan enjoyed a successful spell at West Brom, leading them to a ninth-placed finish in his first season and a fifth-placed finish last season. Despite a reduced playing budget this season, he has guided the Baggies to seventh place in the Championship.
Corberan has previously managed Huddersfield Town and is now tasked with guiding Valencia away from the relegation zone.
Valencia, who are currently second-bottom of La Liga, face a challenging test in their next game against reigning champions Real Madrid.
