Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on party supporters to stay united and focused to secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking to thousands of enthusiastic supporters in Nkawkaw during his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia underscored the importance of voting for both himself and the parliamentary candidates to ensure a strong NPP majority in the next Parliament.
Avoiding Future Parliamentary Gridlock
Highlighting the current 137-137 split in Parliament, Dr. Bawumia expressed concern about the challenges posed by such close numbers, stating, “You have all seen what has been happening in Parliament… That is worrying, so we don’t want a repeat of that.”
Grassroots Efforts Bearing Fruit
Recognizing the hard work of parliamentary candidates and grassroots party members, Dr. Bawumia confidently predicted that the NPP would secure a decisive majority if elections were held today. “I have visited over 200 constituencies and campaigned on the ground. Based on the data I’ve seen, I can assure you that if we hold the elections today, the NPP will have a decisive majority in Parliament. There is no doubt about it,” he declared.
