Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has officially claimed the title of the world’s second-rihest person, surpassing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos following a strong week of trading for Meta shares.
As of Friday, Zuckerberg’s estimated net worth reached a staggering $205.4 billion, while Bezos’s net worth stood at $203.9 billion.
Zuckerberg is now closely trailing Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, who occupies the No. 2 spot on the real-time billionaires list with a net worth of $208 billion.
However, Elon Musk remains the world’s wealthiest individual with a net worth of $264 billion.
The surge in Zuckerberg’s wealth was fueled by a significant increase in Meta’s stock price, which rose by more than 2% on Friday.
This marked a notable milestone for Zuckerberg, as he reached the $200 billion mark earlier in the week, becoming one of four billionaires with a net worth of $200 billion or more.
Zuckerberg’s ascent to the second position reflects the exceptional performance of Meta, in which he holds a substantial 13% stake.
Since January, Meta shares have soared by over 68%, driving up Zuckerberg’s net worth.
