Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Akwasi Ofori Agyemang, aka King Zuba, has warned traders and animal farmers in the metropolitan area to adhere to new regulations.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) aims to restore order and discipline, promoting a cleaner, more organized environment.
New Regulations:
- Trading Restrictions: Traders are prohibited from operating in unauthorized areas, specifically between double roads. Offenders risk penalties, including confiscation of goods.
- Livestock Control: Cattle owners and animal farmers must keep livestock off main roads starting next month. Free-roaming cattle will be seized and donated to Kumasi prisons.
- Loading/Unloading Restrictions: Traders can’t load/unload goods between 7 pm and 7 am to prevent congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow.
The KMA is committed to enforcing these regulations to achieve its goals of creating a cleaner, more organized, and safer environment.
The assembly’s objectives include providing essential services and promoting sustainable development in Kumasi.
